LONDON (Nov. 5, 2020) — When Tissue World Digital Days convenes online Nov. 11-13, 2020, it will bring together the leading thinkers, makers and doers in the world of tissue manufacturing and distribution for three days of high-level discussions of the industry’s current state and future prospects. The event was organized when the Tissue World live events, originally scheduled for 2020, were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tissue World Digital Days will offer every attendee an entirely new experience of content, education and matchmaking. Over three days, five focused live panel discussions and webinars will take place with a deep and broad program. Attendees can connect with all job levels of professionals in the tissue industry seeking new solutions, innovative technology, market outlooks and insight in consumer trends. Over three days, five focused live panel discussions and several pre-recorded webinars will take place.

Ronaldo joined Voith Paper in 1988 and has held several management positions with the company, based in Heidenheim, Germany. Holton has 35 years’ experience in the tissue industry. His positions include technical, production, maintenance and engineering management, TAD start-up manager and Yankee services.

Franz Harrer: Steel Yankee Dryer Lifetime Management

Product Manager, Andritz AG, Austria

Franz is the director of the ANDRITZ Steel Yankee and Technology Tissue team. He joined ANDRITZ about 13 years ago as a design engineer for tissue and paper machines. He played a major role in various machine rebuilds and experienced how tissue and paper machines with the first ANDRITZ steel Yankees were put into operation successfully. Today, Franz heads the ANDRITZ tissue technology team and is in charge of product management. He works closely with the ANDRITZ tissue pilot plant (PrimeLineTIAC - Tissue Innovation and Application Center) team and research institutions.

Ian Padley: Crepe Blade Wear Modelling

Global Solutions Team Manager, Tissue BTG, Switzerland

Ian has held positions as a process development engineer in a board mill, at an engineering company, in chemical sales and service and as global tissue marketing manager at Hercules. He is now BTG’S Global Solutions Team manager for tissue, based in Scotland. He is a frequent conference speaker — nine times at Tissue World — and has a number of publications in PPI, Paper Technology and TWM.

Mike Soucy: Troubleshooting Thermocompressors

President, Kadant, USA

Mike has over 30 years’ experience in the pulp and paper industry specializing in steam and condensate systems. He is president of Kadant Johnson Systems based in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has held prior positions as president of Kadant Canada, president of Dry-Con Inc. and steam and condensate system product manager at Valmet Enerdry.

Manfred Jaeger: Tissue Machine Vibrations

Managing Director, Jaeger GmbH, Germany

Manfred founded JAEGER GmbH in 1995 after 12 years with ESCHER WYSS (later Voith). With more than 30 years’ experience he is specialized in on-site service for Yankee/MG cylinders: grinding, metallization and mechanical service. He co-founded JAEGER Inc. in Vancouver, Washington, USA, to serve the North and South American markets.

Starting his career at Procter & Gamble in 2005, Segmen worked in a number of roles

at P&G. He held various positions as Household Consumer Products Category Director of the Turkey Market Strategies & Planning Department, Director of Fabric and Home Care Category at Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Market Strategy and Planning Department, as well as Senior Sales Director at Chain Stores in Turkey. Since 2018, he has been Chief Sales Officer of Eczacıbası Consumer Products.

Alp Öğücü, General Manager, LILA GROUP, Turkey

Alp has served as general manager of Lila Group for more than 11 years. Prior to that, he was a project engineer at the company. He is a founding member of 118-Y Ornek chapter of Lions Clubs International, and sits on the board of directors of nonprofit TEGV - Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı and consults at SEV — Health and Education Foundation.

Lütfi Aydın, Global Tissue Production Director, Hayat Kimya, Turkey

Following military service Lütfi started his career at Toprak Kagıt Tissue mill — the biggest tissue manufacturer in Turkey — as maintenance engineer in 1984. He has held management positions at Measurex-Turkey, Toprak Kagıt and Modern Karton Plant, the biggest corrugated paper producer in Turkey. In 2004 Lütfi went to Hayat Kimya Tissue Project and started the first tissue paper plant in Yeniköy, Turkey, in 2006. Since then he has finished seven additional paper plant startups in Turkey, İran, Russia Federation, Egypt and will complete his ninth startup in Russia Federation by the end of 2021.

Lairton has 40 years of work experience in groups such as Dow, Rhône-Poulenc, Votorantim and Specialty Minerals. Currently, he is managing director at Solvocon Business Consulting, developing projects in management, operational excellence, innovation, lean manufacturing and commercial support for companies such as Micron-Ita, Suzano, Grupo Scodro and Óxidos-Carmeuse. Lairton served as president of Associação Brasileira Técnica de Celulose e Papel. He is currently its chairman of the board and member of Instituto Brasileiro do PVC.

Daniel has been involved in major expansion in different areas of Mili SA, research and development, projects, paper machines, conversion, treatment of water and treatment of solid waste and people management. He is a regular participant in national and international seminars including as a speaker on technical and innovation issues.

Nestor de Castro Neto, Executive Advisor, ABTCP, Brazil

Nestor’s management career includes experience as an executive at a multinational German company in the segment of pulp and paper equipment supplier, as well as sales, project management, engineering, manufacturing, R&D, negotiation, marketing and customized projects in the Americas, Europe and Asia. He has been Director of ABTCP (Brazilian Pulp and Paper Technical Association) for the past five years, and served as President of Voith Foundation for five years.

Marcello Moraes, Commercial Director, Softys, Brasil

Marcello is a commercial director with experience in working tissue, diapers, food, household cleaning, oral care and personal care products. He is skilled in sales, trade marketing, marketing management, market planning, business planning, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and account management.

Manoel Neves, Economic Studies Manager, Poyry Tecnologia, Brazil

Manoel has over 23 years of experience in business consulting and engineering projects in the areas of pulp and paper, fertilizers, mining, steel, renewable energy and wood products. His expertise extends to business strategies, market opportunities, site location studies and conceptual engineering studies in Brazil and some South American countries.

David Mackinson, Research Manager, Euromonitor, Chile

David manages an international team of analysts that covers FMCG in Latin America and he is responsible for Euromonitor’s relationship with the most important companies in the region. He has a deep understanding of corporate activity in the region and the current state of each industry, including tissue and hygiene.

Since joining Kimberly-Clark in 1988, she has held a variety of roles with increasing responsibility in research and engineering, supply chain and marketing. She began her career at General Electric as a process engineer.
