A Georgia plant turning wood residue into jet fuel is receiving a big chunk of new federal funding to boost production, in the hopes that its products can eventually lower the climate change impact of the airline industry and other sectors.
USA BioEnergy through its subsidiary, Texas Renewable Fuels (TRF), is pleased to announce the development of an advanced biorefinery that will convert 1M green tons of wood waste into 34M gallons annually of premium clean burning transportation fuel including Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Renewable Diesel and Renewable Naphtha.
On Wednesday, 7 October, Sweden’s Minister for Enterprise Ibrahim Baylan inaugurated Södra’s plant for commercial biomethanol at the pulp mill in Mönsterås. Members of the European Parliament Fredrik Federley, Jytte Guteland and Jessica Polfjärd were present at the inauguration as well as Professor Johan Kuylenstierna of the Swedish Climate Policy Council.
Montreal, November 12, 2021 – Enerkem, a world leader in the production of biofuels from waste materials, is proud to have achieved a major breakthrough in converting carbon from forest biomass into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using its proprietary thermochemical process.
Teams from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and Sandia National Laboratories have collaborated to develop a streamlined and efficient process for converting woody plant matter like forest overgrowth and agricultural waste – material that is currently burned either intentionally or unintentionally – into liquid biofuel.
