Quesnel River Pulp mill on Finning Road experienced a fire on Monday afternoon, April 1st.
Firefighters arrived on scene at 3:27 pm to find multiple hotspots on the roof.
Crews from Quesnel Fire Department, including a ladder truck, rescue vehicle, and water tanker, battled the blaze for approximately two and a half hours. Additional firefighters arrived later to assist after finishing their regular shifts.
The fire caused damage to the roof, but the cause remains under investigation. Quesnel River Pulp is currently owned by Atlas Holdings and operated by Millar Western Forest Products.
